In its 22nd edition, FESTARTE makes of Matosinhos a center where the ethnographic, gastronomic and cultural traditions from human communities of different continents will converge. The groups that visit us in this edition arrive from Algeria, Spain, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine and Venezuela.
Rancho Típico da Amorosa was born in the current Union of Parishes of Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira, in the distant year of 1935, comme-morating on next November 8th, 83 years of life. (READ MORE)
Matosinhos is a small urban municipality with 62.42 km ² of area [1] and 175 478 habitants (2011 [2]), subdivided into 4 parishes.

International Festival of Popular Arts and Traditions of Matosinhos

Like the late Dr. Carlos Morais said, the contest “will allow to take Matosinhos to all corners of the world and, simultaneously, to make known to the population of the county the difference and the exoticism of other cultures.”
